it was a very bad experience with Dr Ravi Prakash for me and my father. i went there for my father's treatment of memory forgetfulness. **** **** ** ******* *** **** *** ************* would laugh out sarcastically at the patient if he repeats the question? that's the nature of the medical condition, instead, he was kind of rude and did not explain the issue at all. I consulted another doctor instead of going back to him. never ever ho back to this doctor.

Interesting review. I do see over confident people but such a degree of overconfidence is really rare. You didn't come to me for fun sir. You were already taking treatment before and came to me for second/third opinion. I am sure after the next doctor you visited, you will go to another psychiatrist. This is called a doctor shopping. Nothing else needs to be answered for your ridiculous review. But there is an old age person involved here for which I want people to know some basic things. Your father doesn't have dementia but he was already on so many anti-dementing medications that the actual clinical picture was masked. The emotional reactivity was covered and I was sensing some depressive state. The psychiatric interviewing techniques try to unravel the emotional reactivity therefore sometimes jokes and laughing is involved as a part of the interviewing. This is the reason that when I am interviewing old age patient I ask family members to stay outside. I don't really care about people with half baked knowledge like yours. But your father's condition in my assessment is not dementia but pseudo dementia. Something which you will never understand by your attitude. For those who want to read more about pseudodementia, I suggest them to go through my multinational article published in Annals of Indian Academy of Neurology: Pseudodementia- A neuropsychological review, 2014 Apr-Jun; 17(2): 147–154. If we are not giving anti depressants to pseudo dementia patients, we are allow the depression to increase further and therefore the cognitive deterioration as well. Psychiatry is a complicated branch sir. Otherwise why would you come to me? I was confrontative to you, not to your father because your were talking all sorts of wrong things in an over-confident way. Such presumptuous people like your kind self are the biggest hurdles to a proper treatment.

I decided to contact Doctor Ravi after reading reviews online. * *** ****** **** ** ****** ***** **** **** ** ******* *** ** ********* **** ********

I was wrong.

After session my brother tried to contact him repetitively because he needed help. First Dr. Ravi ignored his messages and after that he ignored calls also. Finally Dr Ravi BLOCKED him on whatsApp.

How can anyone can do this thing with a patient who is suffering from anxiety?????

I request you not to do such things because someone may be in serious need of help.

Dr. Ravi Prakash replied

Yes I will block any patient that I feel like. A doctor has the right to refuse any patient. You or any other person cannot take away that right. You need to understand that you are consulting a doctor not a personal assistant. Yes I didn't reply to his messages because he was asking questions which were already answered in the session. This is reassurance seeking behavior which has to be discouraged. When he called me I was in ICU seeing emergency cases. Phone calls are not allowed there. You and your brother have to stop thinking that you are some special people who will be given preference over other who is in an ICU condition. And upon that, as soon as I disconnect his call, he sends me a message which ended with the sentence: " I am better off without your help". This is a clear refusal of treatment and my pursuance of treatment beyond that is illegal according to Chapter No.3 of Mental healthcare Act 2017. But even beyond all these, I want every one to know that I will treat as per the scientific protocols and not according to your imaginations and unrealistic expectations. I also request you to teach your brother some manners and I request you to understand that a doctor is not your personal assistant and I request you both to understand that your VIP status doesn't apply infront of all the doctors.

Dr..first of all asked my age and I am unmarried and once I informed about my sexual problems...he just was giving basic general discussion *** *** *** ****** ** ********** *** ******* **************I am unsatisfied with Dr consultation..just for 100 words I spent 750 and e of money.. I will never recommend anyone this Dr...and while consulting me he was speaking in phone and texting in phone ...

This exactly is the way of thinking in India that saddens me. It makes us doctors feel that there is no space for honesty and truthfulness for doctor's practice in India. In your case, everything boils down to charges. My charges are displayed on Practo. I didn't hide any thing. Why did you come at all if you felt that charges are more? I practice at many places at charges as low as 350. Why didn't you come to those places? Coming to your problem, you came with a preconceived diagnosis of premature ejaculation. I tried explaining that PME cannot be diagnosed without actual sexual intercourse. But you kept on pestering me that your diagnosis is true. Then I showed you some pics and gave you sexual response cycle to understand. Still you kept saying something is definitely wrong with you and that I should give you some treatment. You didn't know the basic mechanism of erection or it's sustainment. There was no problem with your nocturnal tumescence or masterbatory erection. Then on what basis would I have given you treatment? Finally on your insistence, I wrote some tests which as per my assessment was not required at all. But you kept on asking for treatment. Now this is where the problem with me. I practice and I will always practice as per the scientific protocol and nothing else. And in your case, the scientific protocol is very straight forward: no disorder means no treatment. On the other hand, you would have been extremely happy if I would have written some fancy and costly Vitamins or something, you would have been happy and would have given a positive feedback. Unfortunately, I can't practice like that. And I don't care about the feedback as long as I m doing the right thing. So my advice to people like you is this: If you know your diagnosis so clearly from internet, please don't waste money on us doctors. Just go ahead and help yourself. Also, there is a whole army of unqualified sexologists waiting for people like you.

I saw the doctor exactly at the time the appointment was fixed, and his approach is so good that he makes you feel comfortable within a few minutes.. explains everything, makes us understand what our " problem" is, doesn't promise miracle cures( he explains why too).. this was my first visit, I have already taken the second appointment, and hopefully I will achieve the purpose I visited him for. Would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a good psychiatrist
